Hi everyone, Major lurker here who now seems to have a major problem. The heating element in my Fresh Roast Plus, which I bought in April last year, keeps turning off intermittently during the roast. It turns off about every 60 to 90 seconds and stays off for a good 15 to 20 seconds before turning on again. Has anyone had this problem before? Or should I just contact someone with the manufacturer? Any and all help is greatly appreciated, especially since I have a number of coffee orders to do and have just ruined two consecutive batches. This is not good! Thank you! Dennis homeroast mailing listhttp://lists.sweetmarias.com/mailman/listinfo/homeroast
Dennis, I own a couple of FR/FR+ machines and haven't run into that, but having hacked my FR to automate it, I would go in and check the connections to the heating element and fan motor, sounds like something is heating up and opening.

It could be that you have high voltage, are using a large bean load, or that the stat is a bit low. You can talk to Tim of Freshbeans about this and see if there's a quick fix. Open it up and solder it shut. Jim Schulman wrote: <Snip>
