Topic: Caffe Rosto question... (25 lines)
1) From: Terry & Dona McVay
Hi Folks, I just bought in my first Rosto last week and was very dissappointed
with how lightly it roasted, checked voltage (110+), varied bean load, all
to no
avail. Then I remembered all the discussion on variacs, (thanks MiKe) and
started to do the research, when the little thing blew a fuse, and no heat
at all.
I'm expecting that it's replacement will certainly do better, but if it
doesn't..
what about the old cardboard box dodge that we recommend to the hot air
popper folks roasting up North? Is there some reason recycling the hot air to
bring up the temperature is contraindicated? I know the manual says to twist
the dial to add minutes to the roasting process, but I tend to like the
brightness
of a 10-11 minute run into a rolling second crack, and had hoped that the
Rosto
would do that. Thanks in advance
Terry McVay
