I have an Alp that is 6 month old with 50-60 batches thru it.
Until just recently it behaved perfectly. I could roast any where from
lightly toasted to totally burnt and usually end the roast manually with the
unit set at 12.
The last few batches never went into second crack (in fact after 19 min. it
was barely into first) I found the only way I could push it into second
crack was to remove power after cooldown started and re-start for an
additional 11 min.
My understanding was the problems with the Alp was too hot, not too cool.
Actually it sounds like the heater shuts down after about 12 min. as the
smoke slows down and the motor stops cycling.
Has any one seen this? I will call Alp tomorrow.
