Couple of questions,
How many finally bought one?
&
When it is due to arrive?

Ben,
Did order one, the FedEx website says it is due on 2/1, which is
Saturday so I suspect it will be delivered on Monday as FedEx doesn't
normally do Saturdays for home deliveries. The FedEx site also shows
the package arrival at their depot in Columbus, OH early Tuesday and it
doesn't show that it left as of 3pm Wednesday... Delivery is to the
Portland, Oregon area.

Is it specifically being shipped FedEx Ground *Home Delivery*? If so, their
delivery days are Tuesday - Saturday (and they may deliver as late as 8 PM).

Ben:
Received my Rocky today via FedEx. Removing from box, read the instructions
(very limited, less their range of liabilities), removed the doser jig,
inserted beans and ground away. It is exactly as ordered and am thrilled to
be an owner. Thanks for all you've done to make this happen.

Well, that's good news then. The service level on the notification
says: GND PPD RES, which I translated into Ground, Pre-paid and
Residential. In any case, it is just a few days away...

Yeah, we're neighbors, I'm out in the Hillsboro area. Been roasting for
about a year and mostly lurk here on the list. Use a Gourmet with a FR+
as backup, unlike most I like the Gourmet. It is loud but I get a much
more even roast versus the FR+ and although not scientific, I think the
coffee tastes better from the Gourmet. Some of my favorite beans are
Yirg, HueHue, Yemen Ismaili or Mattari, just about any Kenyan and Smith
Farms Kona. Do mostly vacuum brewing, some drip and have a low-end
espresso machine. Now that I am getting a good grinder I will budget a
better espresso machine next.
Take care and maybe we'll run into each other some time...

Ben,
My two came in yesterday (29th). I'm in the (long) process of setting them up.
I want to thank you for putting this thing together. I needed this to get
me over my inertia about getting a good grinder. The fact that it was a
group thing AND the savings put me over the edge...
Again, thanks
Angelo

Ben I bought one but it is on back order. Still at the same price you got.
Hopefully I will get it in a couple of weeks. Thanks
for getting this all together.

Ah Yes, group buy on Miss Silvia next year! (Unless someone beats her in

I just got my Rocky today, and just took it out of the box. It is full
of coffee grounds ... really nasty smelling ones too, all in the hopper,
some on the exterior of the unit, and inside the plastic "beak" where
the ground coffee comes out. In fact that "beak" (or whatever it's
called) is kind of smoke colored, not clear. I wonder if they are
usually clear and this one is discolored with coffee oils.
Anyone else get theirs in this sort of condition?

Lee,
All Rockys are tested at the factory with beans. It is standard for
them to come with some grounds in the works. The doserless comes with a
what they call a "rose" colored hopper.

I understand that the machines are often tested. The pictures I have
seen of the chute is that it is tinted.
I do not think coffee oils will stain the plastics.

My curiosity has the best of me, would someone
please email me the price and dealer on the Rocky
deal.
I am living with a paid for Solis Maestro grinder.
Maybe the group purchase of Silvias will be possible.
Thanks
