Have recently become very interested in American Artisan
cheeses. Can't find an email list with much traffic. Anyone here
know of such a list? Thanks, Mike

We talk about artisan cheeses in Cooks Forum on CompuServe - now accessible
to anyone, for free, by means of any browser.
P.S. - We also talk about coffee (and coffee-roasting) there...

There is a (home) cheese makers list. Not quite what you're looking
for, i think. Unfortunately the site that hosts it is currently
down. If you're interested, drop me a note and I'll mail you directly
when the site is back up.
The American Cheese Society has a web site athttp://www.cheesesociety.org/,but I don't see (off hand) anything
about an email discussion list there, either.

You probably know about these but i picked up two interesting books the
other day:
One is the Cheese Primer (1996) by Steven Jenkins and more to your
interest- The New American Cheese- Profiles of America's Great Cheesemakers
(2000)
