Bialetti continues to claim that Aluminum is the best for Moka Pots. (They
make stainless steel ones as well and now include Stainless steel baskets
with some Aluminum models). Their claim is wierd (that old coffee aroma is
absorbed in the Aluminum and addes "depth" to the brew;-????? The claim that
the good conduction is helpful might make sense-but could be a problem with
the larger models. These models are more popular in America than in Europe
since Americans like to fill mugs and not demitasses;-)
i am going to try preheating the water so that the moka pot sits less time
on the Stove. This way the upper part will be less hot. (I live at about
3,000 ft above sea level which is an advantage.

PS For those interested in seeing the so called "crema" that results in
brewing with the Kaliffa
(Brikka system two cup-or double shot 50 ml (1.5 oz) I supply you with
the following links to pics I posted on an Israeli forum. (I hope you
don't have to read Hebrew to figure out how to open the jpgs.
The JPGS are attatched to individual messages.
The JPGS have their own links and also open as the thread is opened.
The first link takes you to the situation BEFORE "Crema" and liquid
totally separate. (You will have to go down to the bottom of the page
to my post-signed myronj. Either click the English word ENJOY in the
subject line or the word JPG)
The Second link takes you to a thread with pics showing how the
"crema" holds up for 4 minutes and 48 seconds. (Again follow the posts
with my name, myronj)http://www.tapuz.co.il/tapuzforum/main/Viewmsg.asp?id20&msgid424352http://www.tapuz.co.il/tapuzforum/main/Viewmsg.asp?id20&msgid619237
The blend is JAVA+COLUMBIAN+TANZANIA AA (NO ROBUSTA INCLUDED)
You don't know how hard it was to stand for 5 minutes and watch the
cup disintergrate. (Still tasted pretty good though;-)
