OK - the vendor is located in Irvine California - and the information came
from Shelly Chiang at Yang Leu in Taiwan. The price apparently is $599 per
unit, but what Scott has managed to arrange is a $100 discount for any five
shipped to a single location. So he was considering buying five and putting
it on his credit card and then shipping to the group purchasers
individually.

be posting - so I'm going to back out and let any of you contact Scott if
you want/need more data.
John - wishing I'd learn to think faster!

No more a problem than the Rocky co-op buy. Tom doesn't carry the HotTop or
the Rocky... Yes he was considering carrying the HotTop when Baratza was
considering importing them. Doesn't sound like that is going to happen any
time soon if at all... The reality is greens are Sweet Maria's *bread &
butter*. Consumable constant demand *product* one of the criteria for the
ideal business, coffee greens be that item. Hard goods more a side line
sporadic income than main source of income I believe...
If these types of deals were objectionable to Tom & Maria I'd hope that let
us know.

Sorry Ron, This ski mask is just for making bank withdrawals :) I'm glad I
got my HT at the price I did - but then I earned the extra $200 burning my
hand, living with its foibles etc. Now that it is a production model I love
it, but not sure I'd pay the asking price - well maybe not :O)

Hey MM - ...Equipment is actually a very important to our business
(and survival in our new California digs!) and the list rules on that
still stand. But if we don't carry something and if there are co-op
buys I really don't mind some limited use of the list for people to
organize (or course, all details are handled off-list). In terms of
espresso machines and grinders, theres no way we could carry
everything out there to suit every customer's requirement. But home
roasting is different. And in this arena, if we don't carry something
it is because there is a reason. With the HotTop, there's no way I
can stand behind the machine without a US company that stands behind
us and provides a US warranty! And I think you might have to make
potential HotTop customers pass an on-line mechanical/electrical
engineering test before each purchase! just kidding... :-0 -Tom
