I purchases some of SM's JBM Mavis Bank a month-plus ago. My first =
roasting to just barely into second crack yielded a very good coffee =
after about a 60 hour rest. I commented on its thick body and pure =
coffee taste, but its lack of origin flavors and tastes.
I just roasted my second batch and took it with me on a business trip. =
Not optimal brewing conditions with a blade grinder, paper filters, and =
the drip machines in the hotels. But I did have Seattle and Portland =
and Vancouver water. And I now consider the JBM to be truly a coffee =
experience. Its difference (and richness) was evident from the first =
smell of the ground coffee. The smoothness and pure coffee taste and =
thick body were evident from the first sip of the very hot coffee to the =
cooled coffee in the cup. And almost a sacrilege, it was even excellent =
one night out of a styrofoam cup. I have now put Tom's JBM into a =
must-have for special occasions coffee, and also one to periodically =
have just for the intense coffee experience.
I do have a pound of ISH on order and await my experiences with that =
