Sounds like it's a tentative go for Saturday June 14th. Will Sunday the 15th
being Father's Day be a conflict for anyone wishing to attend?
BTW, it was never officially *voted* or whatever to hold it at our house in
Vancouver, WA (just minutes north of Portland, OR). I have no problem
hosting if others agree. I would also have no problem traveling elsewhere if
that is preferable. (Traeger would of course stay home:-) If at our abode
I'm debating between Luau style Kalua Turkey or the more traditional Pork.
*Maybe* both... While the idea of Q'ing Goat is intriguing I don't have
ready access to it! Kalua Goat? Just *kidding*:-) Oh, if going Luau theme
Q'ing maybe I'll make my to die for Pineapple Macadamia Nut Upsidedown
Coconut Rum Cake! Naw, nobody would want any of that to go with Kona
coffee...
If it continues to be a go for June 14th and Vancouver, WA I'll do some
checking on places to stay. We do have a guest bedroom with a double bed
someone is welcome to use.
Hey Charlie, up for a drive down from BC!

I was wondering about Eugene or somewhere BUT I wanted to meet Mr. Traeger
and Ms Silvia, not to forget Frankenformer.

Baaaad :-) If people are up for goat, I think it would be great
Traegered. I bet I could cooler ship it to you the week before. It could
leave frozen and it would arrive next day still frozen I am willing to bet.
<Snip>
That sound great. Do you "do" cooked alcohol?

Father's day isn't a problem for us, my kids all live a 3 day drive from
here - and the one who might be able to get together with us will be busy
with his gorgeous wife and four wonderful kids being Dad for them. BUT..
we're open to about anything in the week before or two weeks after.

4) From: Oaxaca Charlie
I'd love to be there. Depends on how my old car is running, and
what things are like here at that time. Definite maybe.:o)

Boy am I lost. Charlie, I thought you were south, like just south of the
Texas boarder. Down from BC? I'm confused. I could have sworn you have
made many the Mexico reference.
Regardless, it would be cool to meet you.

Just a note - this is around the time of the Canadian Coffee and Tea Expo,
in Vancouver... I think it is that weekend... I have to check my show
brochure, which I can't find at the moment...
PS - I've managed to convince most of the gang from Zoka to come to the
show (they may get a booth, even), and I think the guys from ESI (La
Marzocco) will be coming up, as well as maybe even Doug from
Intelligentsia, and Mike F from the SCAA and others...
Joe (from ESI) is a huge home roaster, and Mike does it as well. Doug kinda
home roasts - he considers Intelligentsia his home, and he has a nice 100kg
to play around with and experiment :)

Hey Mark,
Thanks for the Canadian Trade Show heads up. However, I live in, and we're
gathering in, Vancouver Washington United States of America -on the southern
border between Washington (State, not DC) and Oregon. Not Vancouver British
Columbia Canada - which is north of Washington State. Very very common
mistake, especial for US Right Coasters:-)

Yeah, I knew that :) :)
But I figured PNW home roasters may want to maybe make the trip to the
trade show :)

As usual I'm a bit behind on the list. I'd love to come, but we have a =
bit of a tradition of going to the Sand Castles day in Cannon Beach OR, =
which happens to be on Feb 14th this year. I do enjoy Sand Castles, and =
I suspect my dear wife (who doesn't drink coffee) would give it up. If =
someone is going past Cannon Beach on the way to or from I can let you =
know where we are parked, our plans are to be there from the evening of =
the 12th through mid-day on the 16th. (or there a bouts.)

10) From: Mike McGinness
David, maybe you could go to the Annual Sandstations Sandcastle Competition
July 18-19 in Long Beach WA instead this year for a change of pace!http://www.funbeach.com/pages/calen_sand.htmlJust a thought. I think it's too late to change the date of the Gathering...
there's bound to be some conflicts no matter the date.
