Hi
I have been roasting with the HP since August 2002. I consume 4lb/2Kg of =
coffee a month and I found
the small batches of the HP not convenient.
I also learned that slow roasting (drum method) gives better results =
then fast roasting (flavor).
I ordered a new 1KG roaster which is hand made industrial standard from =
coffee-tech (website under
construction), it is going to change my life.

Eran,
If you roast a KG at a time, you will only be roasting twice a
month. About half the time you will be using stale coffee.
How much does one of these things cost?

Jim, Jim, Jim... You miss the obvious answer. You double your coffee
intake, of course!
And if it is a coffee hobby item, then cost is... irrelevant.
Yeah, right. Tell that to Jill.

I don't have too, I already go through ten to twelve pounds a week. If
it wasn't for the desire for variety, I could run one of these.

There are four adult drinkers and one four year-old who gets a couple
of coffee flavored milk drinks a week. Three of us have two doubles
in the morning then make a thermos of drip to take to work and another
double right after we get home. The other just has one double in the
morning and takes some fresh ground to the office to make a couple of
small pots with a drip machine during the day.
Yes a lot of coffee but it is about the best little bit less than
two dollars a day that I spend.

I can roast less then 1 kg lets say 1/2 Kg every week that is the =
equivalent of about 7 roasts with the Hp.
The price of the 1Kg roaster is $3000.

Whoa! That's in the range of some excellent roasters. I think you can get
a San Francisco for that much. I know you can get a Syd & Jerry. You could
probably get a Pro-1500.
What is it about your friend's machine that you think is better than the
ones mentioned above?
