Topic: Thanks Tom--Liquid Amber Espresso Blend (28 lines)
1) From: Mark Neuhausen
I had my first double shot yesterday after a 48 hour rest and it was almost
a G*d shot. Today, everything lined up and I had my double ristretto that
made me tingle. The crema was magnificent, with the first liquid espresso
showing up at the bottom of my shot glass at the 25 second mark. As the
cream turned to liquid, I had a couple of the crema bursts where the foam
pulses down into the increasing amount of liquid. Final result was about 3
cm. of espresso with a 2 cm. cream head. As much as I liked the crema and
espresso, the last sip when it had cooled down was surpassed only by the
aftertaste still in my mouth.
I have had Tom's Monkey Blend and it was good, but did not overwhelm my
taste senses like this liquid amber. Maybe it is the monsooned content and
my love for Monsooned Malabar, but this blend tickles my innards and tastes
like it was made especially for me. I'm sure that feeling will last until I
roast up some of the Aged Sumatra Mendehling and have a different,
overwhelming taste sensation.
To me, fresh roasted beans and blends from Tom mean that coffee is now an
exciting fulfilling adventure, and not just a beverage.
Thank you, Tom.
