Topic: Trust Tom? (31 lines)
1) From: miKe mcKoffee
I've been hoping and looking for a Sumatra to match the Gayo SM carried a
couple years ago. Only bought a couple pounds of it while buying some of
every Indonesian he carried at the time. By the time I'd (we, Debi is major
Indonesian fan) decided it was about the best Sumatra we'd ever had it was
all GONE!:-( Been lots of good stuff since but nothing quite on par. (I even
*strayed* and bought some Gayo Mountain from another source that year, it
was my last time leaving the fold - except for Kona of course:-) The triple
picks and super preps are too clean a cup for that good old time Sumatra
taste. Good in their own way but not what I'm looking for.
Well, Tom's write up of the new Sumatra Classic lot 4365 had me really
hoping. Should I order a pound and test it out even though stash way too
big? Argued with myself for a couple weeks then started to get scared. What
if I finally get around to ordering a test pound and discover it is indeed
just what we've been waiting for and then it's all gone. Too great a risk,
just roasted my first *test* batch of the 20# bag I received this week!
I'd say I'd trust Master Cupper Tom and his detailed descriptions. Will
break it up into smaller vac bags for storage latter today.
MM;-)
FFRmR - RBB - RG - MSB too!
