This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
Ed, anyone???
Is .dal.net dead? Ive been trying to connect to the #alt.coffee chat I =
cant seem to get in this week. I can connect to other irc servers but =
not that one.
It may have something to do with the fact that I had to reformat my hard =
drive and reinstall everything over the weekend.
Thanks in advance even if only to confirm that its only me whos having =
the probs.
Have a good weekend

Ben,
The list is there but not real active. I don't access them via a normal
URC server but access viahttp://groups.google.com/groups?q=alt.coffee&ieF-8&oeF-8&hl=enJohn - heading out for Fun Day at South Padre Island

John,
What is URC---(Univeral Remote Control?)

It isn't nice to make fun of your elders. URC is the Down Under IRC.
When one is my age and with my limited vision and recall - getting 66.6%
of anything correct is considered a win.
I think that they put the U and I next to each other because U & I make
a team.

John,
Am I sensing the old Dvorak vs. Qwerty thread raising its interesting head,
and can it be tied to coffee roasting?
Were lever machines designed for the hectic baristi so that they could slow
down and smell the coffee?
I've noticed that in all the mods and from-scratch models put forth in this
group, ergonomics does not seem to be a factor.
It certainly isn't in my Silvia.. Hmmmm....
Ciao,
Angelo

I've been in there a few times this week. Might be a setting in your IRC
program.

Let me clear up some confusion. It's IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and it's the
#alt.coffee chat room on the Dalnet server system. Google archives
alt.coffee Usenet newsgroup, but chat is live and might be difficult to
archive .
