Off topic but since coffee does lead me to the john on occasion... "Opps - misspoke! The actual invention of the flush toilet, the = credit must go to Sir John Harrington. Sir John Harrington, godson to Queen Elizabeth I,..." Where does Thomas Crapper fit into this scenario? Did he simply invent the more mechanized and modern version of the John? It's neither here nor there but I happen to roast and brew in the third floor apartment of Rutherford NJ's "Burgess house". It dates back to 1867 and is truly lacking in historical character except for the fact that it was the very first house in Rutherford to have a flush toilet (which may well be the one that's in my bathroom - my landlord doesn't upgrade much of anything unless absolutely necessary). We're also known as the birthplace of poet William Carlos Williams and currently home to one of the few surviving original Tuskegee Airmen. So why is it that I still can't get a decent capp or even a good drip coffee in this town anywhere but in my own kitchen?
