Topic: thoughts about drinking cooler coffee (2 msgs / 76 lines)
1) From: Zara Haimo
With 3 busy homeschooling kids and projects of my own too, I have a lot of
distractions that keep me from ever finishing a piping hot double in peace.
Usually what happens when I pull a shot is that I get a couple of quick
slurps of the hot crema, put the cup down, get pulled away by something, and
only finish the lukewarm coffee much later. Despite this, I've really come
to like drinking colder coffee. I think that at lower temperatures, the
coffee oils give the cup more body and a richer mouth feel. A lot of the
background tastes seem more pronounced when the coffee isn't so hot - I
often pick up more berry and chocolate nuances in particular. The taste
also seems to linger longer with cooler coffee, maybe because the cooler
coffee oils cling better.
Which reminds me, there's a cooling shot of Monkey blend waiting for me in
the kitchen...

I am a barbarian... I like to let my shots (and my drip coffee) cool off =
a
little before I drink it. I also find it brings out the flavors just a =
bit
more.
