Topic: ALPENROST ADJUSTMENTS (4 msgs / 88 lines)
1) From: Todd Smith
My Alp is no longer under warranty and it's not heating like it used to.
Can anyone point me to some instructions on how to turn up the heat? Seem I
saw how to do this adjustment a while back.
Thanks in advance,
  Todd

Wish I could give you the exact pocedure. but I lost all my data 1month ago.
Mark Prince posted the written prcedure on how to crank up the temp. There
are 2 pots on the circut board one for the heat and one for the timming. I
think the one near the top of the board is for the heat. you'l need ohm
meter I think mark set his at 29 ohms. Rick chime in on this.anytime. sorry
I could not help more.

I lost my data, too. The reason I didn't reply in the first place is
because it is possible that my data is only good for the v1.1 Alp, which
can be identified by a white sticker on the bottom. If Todd's Alp is
out of warranty, then I imagine it's a v1.0.
Having made that disclaimer, the basic procedure is to roll the Alp over
onto its back. Remove the access panel using a Torx T-10 security
driver (hard to come by). You'll see access holes for two pots, one
nearer the top and right-hand side of the circuit-board. That is the
heat control. Adjust it CCW to make the Alp hotter. Note that since I
cranked mine up a little, I can't roast more than a couple of roasts in
a row without the Alp overheating, the symptoms of which are really long
roasts because a temperature override cuts in.
