attain the necessary BTU required for a unit like this..."
Tom on his website athttp://www.sweetmarias.com/prod.coffeekinetics.shtmlWell, Tom, I roast at least a pound at a time in the home made VR which runs
on a 20 amp 110v circuit. I've got some desire to switch to gas as you
know... when I roast I swear I can hear the electric meter spinning from 40
feet away. It makes a sound like, "$$$$$$$$woosh".

How about a closed system? Something along the lines of a convection
oven. After going through the chaff collector, the already heated
exhaust could be drawn through a squirrel cage blower and back over
the heating elements. In fact, the task of heating could be separated
from the agitation so the cfm could be reduced, also allowing for
larger batch sizes.
