Decided to play a bit and blend a Super Cup of beans I'd normally never
dream of defiling with other beans, each a Super Star in their own right.
Onto the scale went:
3gr Merle & Kathy Wood's Kona 01/02 EG 1st Place Kona crop
3gr Koa Coffee Kona Peaberry 02/03 1st Place Kona crop
3gr Puerto Rican Yauco Selecto AA 03
3gr Jamaica Blue Mountain Mavis Banks 02
3gr Australian Skybury 02
4gr Island of St. Helena Coffee Grounds Estate 02
Why 4gr ISH and 3gr the other five? All being City/Light Full City roasted I
knew it take about 19gr for a full double LM basket so somebody had to get
extra, seemed like the natural choice. Ground on my Rocky 10 (4to5 above
18gr double 2oz shot darker espresso roast). Perfect fit with zero waste and
zero shorted. Miraculously hit my target pull dead-on of 5oz in exactly
26sec for the perfect double strength Cafe' Crema pull. Added 5oz hot water
for what I consider the ultimate 10oz cup of coffee brewing method.
You want to talk about a cup that sings with the full force and range a of
Philharmonic Orchestra from the softest solo violin to the thundering
timpani and each and every distinct instrument playing their part coming
through in perfect harmony!
The cup is cooling as I sip and type. The flavors keep building and swirling
and changing. I've got to slow down to taste it cold but don't know if I can
make it last that long!!! Ooooh, that sip was luke-warm, fantastic, a couple
small sips left...make that one...this is one cup I can't put down except by
extreme will power! My tastes buds wants it, my Precious! Alas, it never
made it all the way to room temperature, the pull upon me was just to strong
to resist.
