By way of introduction...I roast greens on the side burner of a gas grill in a covered pan with scent and sound as indications of roast completion. Using a blade grinder for now for auto drip and occasional moka pot coffee there are plans afoot for a burr grinder and espresso machine in the near future.
The talk of bean defects has me scanning my stock for "stinkers",insect holes, stones and trinkets. What a great pastime! The pan roasting is an aerobic workout"Whole latte shaking going on" and the bean inspection develops keen vision, critical discrimination and bemused looks from the B.W. --- Kudos to a very enjoyable and educational group.
