Topic: New P1 roast profile controller (5 msgs / 98 lines)
1) From: Ben Treichel
Hey all,
So how well do you think a thermal chamber controller will be able to
control my P1?
A solution worthy of the FrankenRoaster itself! ;-)http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item%46156791&categoryE040&rd=1Ben (whada mean overkill) T.

Ben, Nice purchase! I'm jealous!
That's close to the functioning of the controller Jeff and others have been
working on. It seems your winning auction has 100 steps using one of the
two thermocouples. I don't see why this won't make for a profile controller.
I can't tell if the smallest time increment is a minute or 1/10 minute.
Hopefully it is the latter for a smoother profile. Make sure you download
this brochure on it.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item%46156791&categoryE040&rd=1<Snip>http://www.sweetmarias.com/maillistinfo.html">http://www.sigmasystems.com/ProductInformationFlyers/Controllers/C4Flyer2page-rev1.pdf<Snip>http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item%46156791&categoryE040&rd=1<Snip>http://www.sweetmarias.com/maillistinfo.html

I'm in on that project. In fact I'm going to see Jeff next week to do
some work on it.
Yep, and you can start at any step you want so that 1 -10 can be profile
1 etc.
The manual talks in minutes, but shows time as 00:00. So maybe 0 to 99:99.
Actually thats for the new model. The manual for mine is at;http://www.sigmasystems.com/Techdoc/DownloadFiles/Manuals/Controller/C3MAN53c.pdf<Snip>

Ben, Ya, I know you are working closely with Jeff, but not everyone on the
SM list knows; I said that just so they wouldn't feel left out of the
btw: I'm finishing up the design of a gas/electric 1 pound sample roaster.
For starters, I'll just use a percentage timer to control the heat manually.
Maybe later we'll have a profiling controller to add. :) Dan

I talked to sigma directly, they have a 'bone pile' of mostly
non-working controllers that if you are in the SabDiego area, and talk
to them nicely, they could probably be convinced to let you pick thru.
