Topic: Oldest stash? (3 msgs / 64 lines)

Tom mentioned his library of beans...got me to
dig through mine (aka the cardboard box in the
back of the pantry).  Lo and behold, a few ounces
of Dominican Montana Verde from...is it 1999 or
2000?  That was a mild bean.  I'm afraid to roast
it now.

I think the oldest I ever roasted was the little quarter pound baggie of
beans that came with a new, but very old stock Melitta Aromaroast I bought a
few years ago for experimental purposes.  In the name of science I roasted
these beans anyway, and although they were maybe 20 years old, the resulting
brew was not terrible.  Name any other food product with a shelf life like
that .
