Topic: Monkey Blend and Raising the Bar (2 msgs / 53 lines)

Unbelievable, another G-d shot only two days after the last.  I have to give
credit to apparently a much better than normal Monkey Blend roast.  This one
was directly into a Cafe de Mexico espresso cup from the SCAA show that
holds about 1 1/2 shots.  I was shooting for something between a ristretto
and double and got it.  Beautiful rust colored crema, wonderful taste, and a
lingering aftertaste.  The bar is raised and Saturday now just falls in the
great shot category.
Now if I can just lower my expectations to be amazed when the next perfect
shot happens sometime in the fall or winter when I am not expecting it.

Way to go, you will never forget that first G-d shot; all of the others are
never quite up to snuff.
Try some Sulawesi "Aged Kalossi" Toraja for an espresso, hinky looking
beans, great taste for that not quite double shot!
Let us know if you get your next g-d shot before winter, you will.
