I can tell you it is not universal. I don't eat sweets even with coffee.
We've been trying to cut back on carbs generally for the past three years.
The easiest way to lower your carbs is to cut white sugar out of your diet.
Not a lot of people can do that. It is difficult to let go of the 'sugar
high' you get.

Thanks very much to everyone who responded to the call for tiramisu and
pecan pie information. There were excellent recipes, tips, descriptions,
links, baking techniques and enhancements to the basics.
I'm thinking that there is some serious snacking going on with the
members of this forum and only a few drinking coffee a capella.
This group is definitely sustaining the "Sweet" in Sweet Maria's.

Allow me to second that.... simple carbs (like sugar) are far worse for you
than caffeine could ever be,,,, I enjoy my coffee black and with food, but
the food doesn't have to be unhealthy to taste good and complement the
coffee.
Live long, so you can drink more coffee.
