PeterZ,
I spent about an hour yesterday in Bed Bath and Beyond
matching up a Stainless steel Mixing bowl and a Stock
pot. I found a match and the mixing bowl makes and
Air tight fit and the lid from the stock pot fits the
top. . The plan is to first blow the air in to the
bottom of the pot and let it flow around and then up
and out through the bottom of the mixing bowl. This
will heat the sides of the mixing bowl and insure that
the whole mass stays at temperature.
I cut a two inch hole in the bottom of the bowl and
added a small sink drain. The beans do not flow well.
The bottom of the bowl is flat and with a 2 inch drain
there is to much flat area on the bottom and some of
the beans stay in the same place. I have to fine a
larger hole saw or Punch to make a hole large enough
for a full sized drain.

I have been thinking of doing this same kind of an
experiment, and here
are some of my thoughts.
You blow hot air into the tube, and up the funnel, the
beans get heated
by the incoming air, but then they fall out of the
stream into a cooler
area. How do you insure that the whole mass stays at
the temperature
you
want? Do you have to insulate around the outside of
the funnel?
Respectfully,
PeterZ
