Topic: Ugandan & Guatemalan, anyone? (3 msgs / 54 lines)
1) From: Paul Jolly
Has anyone tried either of these new beans from
SM--the Ugandan Bugisu or the Guatemalan Finca
San Rafael? I'm a big fan of Guatemalan coffees,
but I'm up to my ears in beans right now. I'd
love to hear what your experiences have been.
As a sideline, does anyone want to cast a vote
for their favorite coffee ever? This would make
for some interesting reading for a neo-roaster
like myself. So far, I'd have to cast my vote
for the '00 Timor Aifu. Man, that bean had it
all!
Cheers,
Paul

Funny you should ask...I am sitting here right now sipping a truly delicious
cuppa Ugandan Bugisu from SM. To let you know what I think of it, I am
thinking about ordering 20lbs. I still haven't detected the leathery taste
that Tom mentioned in his review. I gave a cup to my son who was here this
afternoon and when he sipped it all he said was WOW!

Ah!, The Ugandan! Two years ago a friend of mine who owns a small
commercial roaster gave me a sample of the Ugandan Burgesu green beans he
roasted. It is one of my favorites. I have been buying beans from him at a
much greater cost even with shipping than SM sells it for. I stepped out on
faith and ordered 20lbs. I share this now knowing that it is on the road to
my house
