| Hi everyone - Just so folks on the list have a heads up - We have learned a lot in the past two months of offering the shipping special - so we are continuing this offer through Sept. 30th but making some changes. These changes make the offer more workable for us (which means we can keep it around longer): 1) From now on - choosing SM Shipping Special means that the order ships UPS Ground. If you have an address that can not accept UPS packages (i.e. a PO Box) then you have to choose USPS shipping specifically. 2) We have to bump up the price a bit - $1 for each of the weight categories. We found we were losing a bit more on shipping than we could stomach. (We did see an increase in the number of orders, but primarily, folks took advantage of the reduced shipping to order more coffee - so we did see the average weight of our green coffee orders increase - which is great, since we have lots of green coffee to sell!) New Shipping Special Rates: 0 - 20 Lbs. = $8.99 21 - 40 Lbs. = $14.99 41 - 60 Lbs. = $21.99 3) Finally, we discovered through trial and error that we can get 20 pounds of coffee in the large flat rate box from USPS and in general the boxes (and coffee) survive whatever the Post Office does to them en route. So we have increased the weight limit for the Large Flat Rate box to 20 pounds maximum (from 18 pounds maximum). So if you need the order faster - you can pay for Priority Mail Flat Rate service for a few dollars more to get it there in what should be 2 to 3 days. The usual rules about what fits in the flat rate box (green coffee only, some bags) applies. Orders can be for coffee and/or merchandise on the Shipping Special. Transit times will be the UPS Ground transit time (up to 6 days to northern New England). Good news for our customers who buy a lot of coffee! I have re-introduced the volume discount for orders of at least 3 x 20 lbs. - due to the shipping special the discount is less than before - 10% - not 15%. This shipping option will appear in the list of shipping options as "S.M. Shipping Special (UPS Ground)" Be sure to check out the other UPS and USPS Shipping options on the Shipping list as you check out. It is possible that one of them is less expensive, especially if you are near to Oakland, California, or if you are buying lightweight items. Thanks for your patience while we work out the details with this offer - we are hopefully integrating it into our usual systems in a better way - so it can be a more regular thing.
