| One of my wife's cooking periodicals recently published results of its testing of "Automatic Drip Coffee Makers." They immediately gained my confidence by agreeing with the Sweet Maria world that the Technivorum is in a class by itself. They then proceeded to pan an even more expensive brewer sometimes mentioned on the list. Tom must have taught them ideal temperatures for brewing. I don't remember having previously encountered their concern about *serving*temperature: their ideal ran from 155 to 175 degrees. A surprise, perhaps owed to reliance on poor FP brewing technique, was their judgment that Technivorum coffee beat French Press brews in a head-to-head tasting. Hmmm. Perhaps the supermarket laity has at least begun to pursue the high priests of home roasting. Encouraging, even if it isn't change we can count on yet.
